Virginia came to this project after hearing me describe my daughter Cerrithwen's Flowers of Life Tarot which she created for her Summerfield project in 1997. I was happy to mentor Virginia for this fabulous new Tarot.
Virginia Gallagher is the second of four daughters in a very talented artistic and musical family. She spent many years growing up in Costa Rica while her parents were teaching there and in some ways Spanish is Virginia's natural language. She is a very talented young artist, in her drawings of people especially she is able to capture emotions and inner motivations as you can see clearly in the face of the Hierophant. Whenever I see Virginia she has a pen in hand and a piece of paper on which some fabulous new doodle is taking shape. This is her first foray into self publishing but I expect to see a lot more fabulous artwork from her in the future.
The Demannu Tarot is available from us in a limited edition handmade version. Each set contains a complete Major Arcana consisting of 22 laminated cards, each hand cut. The text by Virginia will accompany each set of cards -- each description is nicely printed in an artistic fashion on card stock.
