Alexandra first became interested in hex signs when traveling through Pennsylvania as a young girl, picking up a booklet on hex symbolism at a roadside stand when she was 12. In the winter of 1999 she received a phone call outof the blue from someone looking for an artist to paint a custom hex sign for a new barn. Alexandra still had the book, so she came up with this combination design below based on two different hex symbols. Since then she has painted a few more, and we will be putting up some more images soon. These are available by special order for $170.00 each -- contact us for more information. 
The Rain Sign/Mighty Oak combination (sign is circular) The rain sign is a symbol of rain, arrayed in a mandala form with the sun symbol at the center. It symbolizes rain and sun in their proper seasons. Together they are a fertility blessing. The Mighty Oak traditionally brings strengthof body, mind and character. To Pagans, the oak and acorn are a symbol of the virility of the God. The oak is shown in its four seasons. The ocean waves around the edges represent smooth sailing in life. |
